Earthwise Waste Solutions Expands to Residential Trash Service in Ute Pass

FBI Investigates Cybertruck Explosion Linked to Colorado Springs

Big changes are coming for residents of Woodland Park, Green Mountain Falls, and Cascade. Starting January 1, Earthwise Waste Solutions will begin offering residential trash pickup for these areas, marking a significant expansion for the company. Known for their signature yellow dumpsters that are a staple in commercial areas, Earthwise is now bringing its services directly to local homes.

Expanding Choices for Residents

"We’re here to give everybody another choice," said David Deighton, the owner of Earthwise Waste Solutions, in a recent interview with The Gazette. "Nobody wants just one choice." This move introduces more competition in the residential trash service market, which can only benefit residents.

A Journey from Demolition to Trash ServicesDeighton founded Earthwise Waste Solutions in 2009 in Colorado Springs, initially serving both commercial and residential customers. His journey into the trash industry was born out of necessity.

"I had a demolition business and couldn’t get good trash service," Deighton explained. "So I had to get into roll-off and do my own service for myself." What started as a solution for his demolition company quickly grew into a thriving trash service as other contractors sought his help.

By 2018, Deighton had sold the demolition side of his business to focus entirely on trash services, allowing Earthwise to expand its footprint. In 2019, he entered the Teller County and western El Paso County markets by acquiring Long Branch commercial trash service, further solidifying his presence in the area.

Building a Recognizable Brand

Earthwise is as much about quality service as it is about branding. With bright yellow dumpsters, trucks, and business cards, the company has made itself highly visible and memorable in the communities it serves.

Deighton’s approach to branding also attracts talent. Despite challenges in hiring that other companies face, Earthwise has a steady stream of applicants. "They all want to drive a brand new Mack Truck," Deighton noted.

What’s Next for EarthwiseThe residential service in Ute Pass is just the first of five planned zones for Earthwise’s residential expansion. With a proven track record of reliability and a commitment to offering competitive options, Earthwise is poised to become a household name in local trash services.
